No More Inefficient Bulk Collection and Material Transport
Libraries often face challenges when it comes to efficiently collecting and transporting bulk materials. Our Metal Bin solution is the ultimate library companion, offering a range of benefits and unique features designed to enhance your library’s operations.
Metal Bin is robust and suitable for handling large volumes of materials. Whether you're dealing with large items, a high number of items, or have specific capacity requirements, the bin is designed to meet your library automation needs. It can also easily integrate with the Sort Mate 2000 material sorting system, enabling greater flexibility and efficiency.

Find Your Perfect Fit
We recognize that each library has its own requirements, so our Metal Bin is available in three different sizes. This allows you to choose the size that aligns with your capacity needs.
Keeping track of the bin's fill level is easy with the smart "I'm Full" warning system. When used with our Sort Mate 2000 sorter module, the system continuously monitors the load. Once the bin reaches capacity, both the system and the bin chute visually raise an alert, enabling your staff to replace the full bin with an empty one in a timely manner. The system also allows for a "nearly full" warning configuration for added convenience.
Effortless Material Handling
In addition to efficient material collection, Metal Bin also doubles up as an easy transport solution. Equipped with an ergonomic handlebar and large, smooth-rolling wheels, the bin enables the effortless manoeuvring of returned items to the designated sorting area. This eliminates cumbersome tasks and supports your staff with material transportation.
Metal Bin prioritizes the condition of materials and the wellbeing of your library teams. Its integrated spring load system adjusts the bin floor automatically based on the weight of the loaded materials. This feature minimizes the drop distance when items are placed inside the bin, providing optimal protection. Furthermore, the bin floor has a soft bottom layer to support the careful handling of materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lyngsoe Metal Bin?
Metal Bin (also called a sort trolley) is designed for bulk collection and transportation of library materials. It works especially well with automated sorting systems to efficiently collect returned books, DVDs, and other items.
How does Lyngsoe Metal Bin protect library materials from damage?
Metal Bin has an integrated spring-load system which adjusts the floor automatically depending on the weight of the contents, reducing the drop distance when items land inside. The bin floor is covered with a soft, protective layer to gently handle materials.
How do I figure out which size of Lyngsoe Metal Bin is right for my library?
There are several considerations when looking at bin size. First estimate how many items your library receives in bulk returns daily, then consider how often you want to empty the bin. Also think about your library’s space and workflow – more frequent emptying means less large bin storage, but larger bins can reduce how often your staff need to swap them out.
